Position: Research Fellow (Full-Time, On-Site)
Location: Mogadishu, Somalia
Position Summary
Salaam University invites applications for a full-time Research Fellow position based in Mogadishu. The successful candidate will lead and support research initiatives, conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and produce high-quality reports and academic publications. The role requires close collaboration with faculty members and researchers on multidisciplinary academic projects.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement rigorous research projects.

Collect, manage, and analyze data using appropriate methodologies.

Prepare scholarly reports, articles, and presentations.

Contribute to institutional research priorities and publications.

Collaborate with academic staff to support research-driven teaching and learning.

Engage with the broader academic community and relevant stakeholders.
Required Qualifications

Proven expertise in research methodology, data analysis, and academic writing.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated experience in academic research and peer-reviewed publication.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Somali.

Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative academic environment.

Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., Social Sciences, Humanities, Development Studies, etc.).

Familiarity with the Somali academic and socio-cultural context is an advantage.
