We are hiring an experienced Rebar Worker / Steel Bender for the Sima Project, a prestigious 5-star hotel and mall development in Mogadishu. This role involves leading and executing the placement, installation, and securing of reinforcing steel (rebar) within concrete structures, while adhering to strict structural, safety, and quality standards.
You will be responsible for reading and interpreting structural drawings, cutting, bending, and tying rebar to specification, and preparing reinforcement for major concrete pours. You will collaborate with the site foreman, troubleshoot layout challenges, verify alignment and spacing, and assist in optimizing reinforcement techniques for project success.
Supervision Exercised
The role will oversee and coordinate the activities of rebar laborers and junior installers, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe completion of reinforcement tasks. You will also mentor and guide less experienced crew members on proper handling and placement techniques.
Requirements

Must have experience in 5-star hotel construction and high-rise building projects (mandatory).

Must be able to read, implement, and design from blueprints.

Proven track record in rebar installation on commercial or industrial construction sites.

Ability to lift and position heavy materials (up to 75 lbs), and work in physically demanding conditions.

Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality execution.
Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Formal training or apprenticeship in rebar placement is preferred.

3 to 5 years of rebar experience in reinforced concrete construction required.
