ROLE DIMENSION

Save the Children operates across all zones in Somalia and currently has three main area offices and additional 11 field offices. Programmatically Somalia is a large Country Office with more than $110million annual budget and staff over 700 staff.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Procurement Coordinator will lead, coordinate, and provide technical oversight for all procurement and logistics functions of the SAGAL-II Project at the Federal MOLSA level. This includes ensuring compliance with donor requirements and national procurement laws while promoting transparency, efficiency, and value for money. A major part of this role is also to build the capacity of MOLSA’s logistics and procurement teams to deliver services in a timely, accountable, and sustainable manner.

SCOPE OF ROLE

Reports to: Area Supply Chain Manager and the director General DG- MoLSA

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g. CIPS, CSCP) is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in procurement and logistics, with at least 2 years supporting government or donor-funded projects.

Essential

  • Familiarity with national procurement regulations and donor requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building and training of government staff.
  • Proven track record of managing procurement cycles, asset management, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with stakeholders across government, NGOs, and suppliers.
  • High-level analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in Somali and English (spoken and written).
  • Strong commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability.
