Structure:
This designation reports to the Housekeeping Manager
General Accountability:
Being a Laundry Attendant, you are responsible to ensure that all laundry services for the camp’s guests is done as per the standard policies and is met on time. Also responsible for laundry collection and delivery to and from guest rooms, washing, drying, pressing and folding of guest’s laundry along with other camps’ linen.
Additionally, properly tags Guest items and then sorts for appropriate action like washing, stain removal, and pressing. Laundry Attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, must have a professional attitude, honest, friendly and should also be able to address guests’ requests and concerns.
He / She should maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all laundry section policies/service and the camp’s procedures/standards.
Specific Accountabilities:
· Ensure to arrive 20 minutes before the shift to attend morning briefing and proper handover towards the end of the shift
· Responsible for picking up and delivery of in-house guest laundry and when laundry bags from guest rooms are collected, ensure that guest name, room number and laundry pieces are listed
· Count and verify all items collected as per laundry sheet signed by the guest and note down any discrepancy or damage on the same sheet
· Check all items for damage or stains and take appropriate action to rectify these issues
· Report immediately to the Head in case any valuable items like cash, jewelry, credit cards etc. are found in guests’ cloth pockets and ensure to adhere to the Lost & Found Policy
· Responsible in processing the guests’ clothing on the correct equipment / machines using the appropriate chemicals and temperature
· Once processed, neatly fold or hang the clothing as requested by the guest on the laundry sheet
· Shakes wet sheets, table linens and napkins prior to ironing to spread them out
· Responsible to feed washed linens and napkins into ironer or folder
· Retrieves folded linens and stacks or hangs clean linens as appropriate
· Sorts clean towels, manual folding for bath towels, washcloths
· Operates presser and iron, washer, dryer, dry cleaning machine etc.
· Reports any technical problems or deficiencies of the laundry machines to the Team Leader or maintenance team, also to maintain the cleanliness & tidiness of the laundry Room
· Places folded product on appropriate rack and reports any damage or deficiencies in the laundry items to the Team Leader
· Assist in inventory and attend all departmental training as informed and scheduled by the Team Leader
· Adhere to complete/standard uniform, grooming, personal hygiene and appearance standards consistently
· Comply with property security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
· Assists with other responsibilities and duties in the absence of other team members or other tasks assigned by the Management.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Any school certification and at least 1-year similar work experience
