Housekeeping Attendant

Structure: 

This designation reports to the Housekeeping Manger

 

General Accountability:

Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing of guest rooms and shower rooms under supervision of Housekeeping Manager. Housekeeping Attendant promotes a positive image of the property to guests and must be pleasant, must have professional attitude, honest, friendly and should also be able to address guests’ requests and concerns.

He / She should maintain complete knowledge of/and comply with all housekeeping departmental policies/service and the camp’s procedures/standards. Additionally, maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, cleaning chemicals.

 

Specific Accountabilities:

 

·         Ensure to arrive 20 minutes before shift to attend morning briefing and proper handover towards the end of the shift.

·         Dusts the room and polish furniture, cleans the bathroom, cleans the closet, vacuums and racks the carpet, and properly cleans other surface and the flooring and ensure to secure the rooms after cleaning.

·         Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, shower curtain and floor.

·         Remove dirty bed linen and make up bed with clean linen and replace towels as per standard.

·         Replenish amenities according to the operational standards and replace facial tissue, toilet tissue in correct amount and location.

·         Deliver and retrieve items on request to guests e.g., extension wire.

·         Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests

·         Perform rotation cleaning duties (e.g., steam clean carpets, spring cleaning, super cleaning etc.) as required.

·         Cleans floor corridor/room deck, pathways & public area.

·         Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.

·         Maintain positive guest relations at all times ensuring guest satisfaction.

·         Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

·         Responsible for the camp premise/whole property in the work area

·         Responsible for following the standard operating procedures in order to achieve and exceed the guest’s satisfaction.

·         Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet and refer to the Housekeeping Manager whenever faced with challenges.

·         Ensure to follow the Lost & Found policy.

·         Return and restock cart at end of shift.

·         Complete assigned tasks within the given time frame and communicate with the Housekeeping Manager as necessary.

·         Assist in inventory and attend all departmental training as informed and scheduled by the Team Leader

·         Adhere to complete/standard uniform, grooming, personal hygiene and appearance standards consistently.

·         Comply with property security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation.

·         Assists with other responsibilities and duties in the absence of other team members or other tasks assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

 

Educational and Experience Requirements: 

·         Any school certification and at least 1-year similar work experience

·         Warmth and graciousness

·         Create stellar guest experiences and flexible availability to work on weekends/holidays and extra hours as per work schedules.

·         Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment.

·         Must be able to apply pro-activeness, common sense understanding to a variety of situations, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.

·         Passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service is preferable.
