International Medical Corps (IMC), through the project “Supporting the Somali Health System to Respond to Increased Heat and Extreme Heat Events”, aims to raise public awareness about the health risks associated with extreme heat and climate-induced heatwaves. As Somalia experiences rising temperatures, the frequency and severity of heat-related illnesses are expected to increase, particularly among vulnerable populations including people with cardiovascular conditions, pregnant women, children, and the elderly.
