About the job
The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing all supply chain functions in Hirshabelle state, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and international best practices. The role will provide strategic and operational support in procurement, logistics, fleet management, warehousing, and asset management to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services to program teams.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Procurement
- Ensuring all the procurement processes are in line with DRC Operations Handbook
- Effective and efficient support to programs’ needs.
- Develop and maintain relevant data bases.
- Maintaining a well-organized and compliant documentation for all procurements both physically and on share point as per archiving and filling SOP
- Weekly and monthly status reports
- Support the Area Supply Chain Team leader to Establish and follow up project procurement plans
- Track all orders, purchases and deliveries
- Ensure that all procurement specific donor rules and policies are understood and respected
- Oversight of all purchase and service contracts to ensure DRC’s interests are protected
- Optimize all logistics operations to increase cost effectiveness including setting up longer term supply contracts
- Ensure DRC supplier due diligence is effective in the relevant context
- Correctly apply ERP supply chain processes
- Ensure that all orders are tracked from point of planning and request through to final receipt including DRC Dynamics.
- Prepare the relevant documents for the procurement of goods and services and uploading same to DRC E-Filing Archive.
- Participate in evaluation of bids and proposals and make sure all required processes are effectively applied
- Participate in the joint verification of procured goods and equipment and to ascertain the items conformity to Technical Specifications and Quantities including DRC Dynamics
Fleet management
- Manage the transportation and distribution of program supplies to project sites.
- Ensure Proper Vehicle Movement Plans are developed, and Vehicles are efficiently allocated and used
- Maintain DRC Vehicles and ensure routine service is carried out on time.
Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of all assets and equipment in line with organizational procedures.
- Conduct regular asset verification and physical counts.
- Lead disposal processes at the Base office in compliance with DRC policy and donor requirements and share with the suppl chain team leader
Warehouse Management
- Ensure compliance and implementation of Operations Handbook across all field offices.
- Provide monthly comprehensive report on warehouse inventory to relevant Stakeholders.
- Warehouse management, including reporting and alert mechanism to program staff.
The Role Responsibilities are not limited to the listed expectations and may expand in scope dependent on the needs as they arise
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain/logistics management, preferably with an international NGO.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, donor compliance, and supply chain standards (e.g., INGO, Government).
- Experience in managing teams and building staff capacity is an added advantage.
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain management software.
- Fluency in English Language
- Fluency in Somali

Contract length: 6 months with the possibility of extension, subject to funding

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for
employees on national contract.
