Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Vector Control Officer located in Mogadishu. The Vector Control Officer will be responsible for conducting field surveys and inspections to identify vector habitats, implementing vector control measures, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of control programs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, the role involves maintaining records, developing reports, and conducting community education and outreach activities related to vector control.

Qualifications

• Experience in conducting field surveys and inspections
• Implementing strategies like placing poison baits, trapping, or applying fogging to eliminate and control pest populations
• Knowledge of vector control methods and techniques
• Ability to monitor and evaluate control programs
• Compliance with health and safety regulations
• Strong record-keeping and reporting skills
• Community education and outreach skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant certification or degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field
