Terms of Reference (ToR) – Freelance Video Editor
Role Summary
The Freelance Video Editor will produce high-quality, engaging short- to long-form videos (1–10 minutes) for Madani Lab, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision. Success in this role is measured by the ability to deliver broadcast-standard videos with compelling storytelling, technical precision, and adherence to deadlines. This role supports Madani Lab’s mission by enhancing visual communication for advocacy, development, or nonprofit initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw footage into polished videos with strong narrative flow.
- Perform color grading, audio mixing, and subtitle integration (English/Somali).
- Ensure deliverables meet technical and creative quality standards.
- Collaborate remotely with project stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro/Creative Suite.
- Proven experience in documentary/editorial-style editing.
- Strong storytelling and pacing skills.
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Preferred:
- Somali language proficiency and cultural familiarity.
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve or nonprofit content.
