Objective of the assignment
Somalia resilience program (SOMREP) over the past 10 years has been involved in implementing resilience programs in Somalia/land. One of program cohort are women led economic groups, mostly been the village savings and loan associations. Once of the challenges facing the VSLAs is low numeracy and literacy skills among members making it hard for them to manage their Micro, small enterprises (MSEs) well. This had also affected their household financial management, including keeping records at home either for agriculture or livestock related activities.
In this view SOMREP seeks a competent consultant with proven experience of developing literacy and numeracy skills curriculum/manual for marginalized women and men to develop the said curriculum for our target cohort.
Roles
- Conduct a desk research assessment to understand the landscape of VSLA ecosystem within Somalia
- Develop tools to guide the curriculum development process
- Development of the numeracy and literacy curriculum for old women and men
- Training staff on implementation of the curriculum
- Prepare finalized documents for the training to end recipients
- Any other role allocated by the supervisor similar to this assignment
Duration of the assignment

Expected results
- Develop a numeracy and literacy skills curriculum
- Train SOMREP staff through ToT(virtual/physical) on usage of the curriculum
- Prepare final ToT packages
- Final report
