Skills and qualifications
English Teaching Requirements:
1.Bachelor’s degree or higher in education (degree in English preferred)
2.Proven experience in teaching English to students at the appropriate level (proficiency in lesson planning, including the ability to assess and differentiate instructions that meet the diverse needs of students)
4.Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a positive and productive learning environment
5.Ability to effectively integrate technology into the teaching process, including the use of educational software, online resources, assessment tools and digital learning platforms.
6.Ability to resolve basic / complex problems as directed
7.Strong communication – excellent verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to communicate with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues effectively)
Job Responsibilities:
1.Teach English to high school (secondary) students approximately 26 lessons (45 minutes each) in-person per week
2.Prepare lesson plans, create student assessments and record grades in Gradelink, school management database
3.Be available for students’ office hours one hour per week
4.Reinforce materials taught in the classroom
5.Accountable for various subject academic progress in cooperation with other teachers
6.Supervise evening study time of one hour per week
7.Lead areas of interest after school student club
8.Attend weekly faculty meetings to share standards & practices across subject areas
Timeline: We are seeking a minimum commitment to complete the Burao Academy 2024-2025 academic year ending in June 2025 and starting Immediately.
